"An Other of the Highest Order"Introduction One does not begin a topic like this trusting that many will believe the truth of these words. For some the idea of Vampire will always remain that "monster" of myth, fiction, and movie. But there are some who question the 'facts' they were taught, who seek answers beyond the sometimes thinly veiled truths presented through educational forums to both lead and mislead. What is lie? What is truth? These are the age-old questions that everyone must face and answer for all the specific queries that form our lives. As I have often asked in the past, "What if what you believe is the lie, and the lie is the truth?" Do you honestly know what you believe to be true, or did someone tell you to believe that way? One must always consider the purposes of the teachers. Well-intentioned education does not always mean truth unto success or even unto heaven. When did you last ask yourself why you believe what you believe? But, should you believe in Vampire because I say so? I would not be so foolish as to think many would, though maybe, just maybe, it might cause one to question that staunch belief held so dear, the one you really don't know why you believe it to be so, but you believe it nonetheless, don't you? Yes, that one. Maybe this person will start to think beyond the rote of water cooler parrots who define accepted rhetoric as fact. Even more, I would hope you, specifically "you the reader", would pose this particular question to yourself at the beginning of this dialog: Should you disbelieve in Vampire because you say so?
