Walt Mikus, Paranormal Investigator
Born on July 24, 1975, growing up in a Roman Catholic household, the paranormal was not normally discussed. Although, I cherish the stories that my grandmother would share with me about unexplainable experiences she had throughout her lifetime.
"My first direct experience with the paranormal happened when I was 5 years old. An experience I will never forget", but he won't discuss it with anyone. From that point on, Walt had an interest in the paranormal and unexplained. "I had a desire to explore what I had seen and felt a need to find out more about ghosts and spirits." He also had other expeiences while growing up, like the strong scent of roses in his grandmother’s hallway, which meant someone in the family had died…"this sign was NEVER wrong". When he was in his early teens, he became involved in paranormal research. Nothing too in-depth, just satisfying a “kid curiosity”” - checking out urban legends in the area, reading about old homes that had no power yet people would see lights on in the houses. He visited these houses and tried to see first hand what was going on. ("I think those lights were flashlights from all the people doing the same thing I did"). At one point, his parents shared an experience they had at his aunt’s house in West Virginia. They left the house in a rush.
Walt attended PA police academy in 1997, and due to unforeseen circumstances, had to start work and have been working at the same job since 1997. He lives in Tunkhannock, PA and is married with 2 kids and a dog.
